Charlotte joined Chambers in 2001, having previously been a member of Old Colony House Chambers. She was called to the Bar in 1996.
The majority of her work is criminal, both prosecution and defence, on occasions as Leading Counsel. Her extensive practice has seen her involved, on behalf of prosecution and defence in cases of murder,blackmail, armed robbery, drug trafficking, child abuse and fraud offences.
She is a Category 4 Prosecutor.
Charlotte has particular expertise in dealing with witnesses and defendants who are vulnerable due to youth, learning difficulties or mental health issues.
Due to the large number of serious sexual offences which Charlotte has both prosecuted and defended, she has a wealth of knowledge and experience in relation to disclosure issues, PII applications and the difficult legal and factual issues involved in such cases.
Charlotte always ensures that she keeps in close contact with her instructing solicitors and sends written advices addressing both legal and evidential mattters, where required. She encourages those instructing her to request advice in relation to any issue in the case and always ensures that a full and timely response is given, no matter how short the notice. |
