He has a busy practice encompassing all areas of criminal law and prison law. CRIMINAL LAW Gareth has been instructed for both the prosecution and defence in cases of serious violence, sexual offences, controlled drugs, public disorder, offensive weapons including prohibited firearms, dishonesty (including fraudulent trading), offences against public justice and road traffic offences. He has experience of dealing with cases at all stages in the Crown Court and of appearing alone in the Court of Appeal. He also accepts instructions specifically in relation to confiscation proceedings following conviction. Gareth is a Category 3 prosecutor and has an application pending to become a Category 4 prosecutor. PRISON LAW Gareth accepts instructions from individuals whose cases fall to be considered by the Parole Board. He has experience of representing prisoners at parole applications and at review hearings following an administrative recall to custody for breach of licence conditions. He has also represented prisoners at disciplinary hearings held before an independent adjudicator. He accepts instructions in judicial review cases arising from any such cases, whether for advice in writing or oral representation.
