Nicola was called to the bar in 1998 and joined Lincoln House Chambers in 2010. She undertakes all forms of personal injury work, including fatal accidents and industrial disease. She has been involved in cases arising from serious orthopaedic injuries and has considerable experience in advising on damages and drafting schedules of loss. Nicola is a horse owner and has used her knowledge and experience to develop a particular specialism in equestrian injuries and other personal injury cases involving the Animals Act 1971. Nicola is able to take instructions on non personal injury civil disputes involving equine matters, such as breach of contract in the purchase and sale of horses.
Nicola has a growing clinical negligence practice. She has a particular interest in litigation arising from cosmetic procedures. She has significant experience of other forms of professional negligence, particularly solicitors’ negligence.
Nicola has substantial experience of costs litigation. She is regularly instructed to attend detailed assessment hearings, particularly those involving technical arguments such as challenges to the validity of conditional fee agreements, matters arising from mis-certification of bills and the premature issue of proceedings. She advises on all matters relating to costs and is instructed by both paying and receiving parties to draft documents, including points of dispute. |
