Operation Yap – Successful appeal and “hidden assets” confiscation reduced to £1

A Lincoln House Chambers and Olliers Solicitors’ client has seen, in the space of 11 days, his appeal against sentence allowed before Lord Justice Leveson and a potential hidden assets confiscation order in excess of £400,000 reduced to a nominal £1.

The prosecution had originally sought a confiscation order in excess of £400,000 made up entirely of “hidden assets”. However, as a result of legal arguments put forward by the defence on the morning of the hearing, the prosecution conceded that the client had no hidden or other realisable assets.

The client was represented by Matthew Corn of Olliers and Dan Thomas at Lincoln House Chambers.
