In addition to these areas the team also receives instructions to prosecute cases for the Health and Safety Executive and for the Environment Agency in the criminal courts. We have particular expertise in representing interested parties in inquests. Members have been involved in inquests following deaths in custody and have participated in multi-handed inquests arising out of accidental deaths involving Police Officers. This is a particularly sensitive area that always requires very sensitive handling indeed and we have several senior barristers who have experience in this area. Our personal injury and industrial disease team members are also regularly involved in inquests. Barristers in Chambers also have experience acting in larger scale inquiries such as the Barrow Legionella Manslaughter case and the North Wales Child Inquiry. |
