You need JavaScript enabled to view it Rick joined Lincoln House in 1994 having been a solicitor with the Crown Prosecution Service for nine years. For the most part his work is criminal, both prosecution and defence, on occasions as Leading Counsel. His practice also encompasses inquests and police disciplinary cases. He lectures to the Greater Manchester Police in relation to:- The deployment of C.H.I.S (Covert Human Intelligence Sources) Drug investigation and drug trafficking courses Covert police investigation and the deployment of dedicated undercover police officers. He has also lectured on behalf of White Paper in relation to issues of disclosure and public interest immunity. His extensive criminal practice has seen him involved, on behalf of prosecution and defence in cases of murder, attempted murder, serious sexual offences, blackmail, armed robbery, drug trafficking, money laundering, organised football violence, company frauds, mortgage frauds and election frauds. He has considerable experience of advising the prosecution, in large scale investigations as to the sufficiency of evidence prior to charge. This, recently, in relation to Operation Gale concerning the major outbreak of public disorder following the UEFA Cup Final in Manchester in 2008. He is recognised as having particular expertise in issues relating to disclosure for both the prosecution and the defence. He has been involved in numerous cases where “Supergrasses” feature. He has had to prepare ex parte PII applications in relation to a range of matters dealing with sensitive material. Conversely, he has also advised as to the basis upon which appropriate disclosure should be sought from the prosecution in cases involving gangland executions and the like. He appears at inquests and has undertaken large-scale defence work in police disciplinary proceedings. He is recognised as having a particular expertise in confiscation matters and has lectured to other barristers, solicitors and the police on the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
