Called to the Bar in 1991, Kevin has a large practice incorporating all aspects of criminal work. He has longstanding experience and expertise both prosecuting and defending cases of rape and serious sexual offending, He is a Category 4 prosecutor on the CPS Advocate Panel and is a member of the Rape Panel.

In the last 10 years, he has acquired a significant profile in regulatory work. Throughout that period, he has been an ‘A” List prosecutor on the Attorney-General’s Unified List and has undertaken substantial and complex prosecutions across the UK on behalf of SOCA, the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, the Environment Agency, the Office of Rail Regulation and, in particular, the Health and Safety Executive. He is noted in Legal 500 for his “..particular experience in HSE matters…”

In the last 4 years, he has developed a growing expertise in fraud and financial services work, having both prosecuted and defended in substantial trials concerning, inter alia, local government fraud, corporate mismanagement and stock market manipulation.

He also regularly appears in coroner’s inquests, generally in relation to deaths in custody, representing employees of custodial management agencies.

In the last 12 months, he has developed a particular specialty both prosecuting for the Care Quality Commission and defending in the first raft of CQC prosecutions of criminally negligent operators in the care sector.
