Katie Jones spoke recently, alongside other speakers, to Parents at a local primary school for an International Women’s Day event.
The talk was part of an event, organised by the schools PTA, to celebrate International Women’s Day, Katie was one of several speakers, tackling various issues, Katie focusing primarily on careers. The topic of her talk was about advancing her career at the Bar, whilst also having caring responsibilities.
Katie talked about was how Chambers, strongly committed to equality as it is, was very supportive in meeting Katie’s needs when she returned to work after having children, and how it continues to be so. She also spoke about the challenges that women in particular can face when seeking to advance their careers whilst being a parent, and about how such challenges can be overcome.
