HN and 4 others were charged with Conspiracy to Cause GBH, Conspiracy to Kidnap & False imprisonment. The case was listed for a 2 week trial at Manchester Crown Court due to commence on 22nd April 2024.
There were a number of outstanding issues to be considered at the start of the trial and the prosecution started the day’s proceedings with legal arguments surrounding hearsay and admissibility of bodycam footage and telephone evidence. Bob Elias (instructed by Waqas Hussain of BMS Solicitors) responded to those arguments and the judge found in favour of the defence. Following the success in these arguments the prosecution decided to reconsider their position and subsequently offered no evidence.
