Bill Baker KC Secures Murder Conviction of Convicted Murderer Released on Parole.

Bill Baker KC has secured the conviction of an already convicted murderer, released by the parole board, who murdered his great uncle within 10 months of being released.

The case featured issues of bad character, self-defence, loss of control, personality disorder, delay in reporting sexual abuse and false claims of sexual abuse.

In his defence, the defendant falsely claimed he entered the deceased’s home to steal his dog, and then acted in self-defence when the deceased attacked him, and suffered a loss of control because the deceased had abused him as a child. Having heard him cross examined the jury rejected his story.

The case has been adjourned to July for Sentence.
