A jury at Manchester Crown Court acquitted JM of both the murder and manslaughter of his father DM following a trial at Manchester Crown Court. The prosecution alleged JM had attacked his father in anger and used a choke hold to kill. Defence counsel, John Harrison KC and Henry Blackshaw (instructed by Simon Morton of Mortons Solicitors, were able to show how JM acted in self defence.
