Bernadette Baxter Appointed to the Circuit Bench

Lincoln House Chambers is delighted to announce the appointment of Bernadette Baxter to the Circuit Bench.

Bernadette was called to the bar in 1987 and, after a very brief spell at 4 Paper Buildings in London, started her career in earnest as Roger Booth’s pupil at 3 Peter Street Chambers. Bernadette has been a member of Lincoln House Chambers since 1992, and was made a Recorder in 2005. Bernadette will be sworn in on Friday, 10th November and will be allocated to Manchester Crown Court, Minshull Street, from 14th November.

Head of Chambers, Andrew Thomas QC, had to say this of the appointment: “We are proud to see the announcement of Bernadette Baxter’s appointment as a Circuit Judge. Bernie has been a member of Lincoln House Chambers for more than 25 years. She has worked tirelessly for chambers and has been one of the driving forces who have helped make it the success that it is today. Bernie has had a fantastic career at the bar, in particular dealing with complex cases in the Crown Court and medical disciplinary tribunals. We are grateful for everything which she has done for chambers over the years and wish her every success in her new career on the Bench.”
