Gripping Documentary Follows Trial Prosecuted by Lincoln House Counsel

A BBC documentary that followed Operation Challenger’s work against an organised crime group in Rochdale, the Adam OCG, has been capturing the headlines.  It has been described as a gripping account of the work of the Police.  At the heart of the programme is the response to an axe attack on an innocent victim in broad daylight in 2017.

The attack was the result of a confrontation between OCG members and workmen who were caught up in an incident of road rage.  The resulting prosecution identified Mohammed Awais Sajid, known as ’Skinny’ as his attacker.  Sajid was convicted in September 2019 by a jury at the Crown Court at Minshull Street, alongside other gang members. On 18th October 2019 he was jailed for 18 years imprisonment for the assault.  The other defendants were imprisoned for other various offences.  The case was the start of a series of prosecutions that targeted the gang.

Tim Storrie KC and Louise Cowen prosecuted the trial, instructed by Lindsey Crossley of CPS CCU.  The series is still available on iPlayer via this link:
