Emma Gilsenan was instructed, by Nazzish Shabir of SAK Solicitors, to represent a young adult accused of serious sexual allegations. The young man had recently been discharged from hospital following complications associated with invasive surgery. The trial, which lasted 3 days at York Crown Court, involved adducing medical evidence and photographs of injuries supporting the defence case of poor physical health at the time the allegations were said to have taken place. The jury returned a unanimous not guilty verdict within 2 hours of retiring.
