Lewis Bocking Secures Acquittal Following 5-day Unlawful Wounding Trial

Lewis Bocking, instructed by Mathew Smith and Hannah Youren of Clarkson Hirst Solicitors, represented RR who was charged with unlawful wounding.

Following the trial at Preston Crown Court, RR was acquitted of this charge. The allegation was brought following an altercation outside a Lancaster nightclub in 2022. RR maintained throughout proceedings that he had acted in self-defence.

The incident was caught on CCTV and the prosecution were unable to identify a third individual involved in the incident.

The trial involved complex legal arguments in relation to joint enterprise following the evidence in the case. The jury returned a verdict of ‘not guilty’ and RR maintained his good character.
