Lincoln House Chambers Welcomes Aspiring Barristers for Student Open Day

Lincoln House Chambers recently welcomed students from the University of Law and the University of Chester for an open day offering an insight into the criminal Bar and the route to pupillage.

The event forms part of Chambers work to support greater racial equality within the profession, providing students from minority ethnic backgrounds with opportunities to access practical guidance, hear different perspectives and speak directly with practicing barristers.

Students met practitioners at a range of career stages, including senior and junior barristers and current pupils. Chambers was also delighted to welcome Ms Justice Obi, whose contribution offered students a valuable perspective on a career in the law.

The programme combined discussion with practical activities exploring advocacy, applications and interviews as well as wellbeing and resilience. Students had opportunities to ask questions about entering the profession and the realities of practice.

Our thanks go to Ged Doran, Richard English KC, Emma Kehoe, Laura Barbour, Louise Cowen and Rani Kaur, together with our pupils Joe Garnett and Joe Murray, for contributing their time, sharing their experiences and providing practical guidance throughout the day.

By creating a space for open conversation and sharing practical experience, Chambers aims to help students make informed decisions about their futures and feel more confident about pursuing a career at the Bar.

Chambers extends its thanks to all participating students and our university partners for their support. We are especially grateful to the students for their enthusiasm and contributions throughout the day,

A further student event is planned for 30 January 2027.
