Lisa Roberts QC defends Thames Water Utilities Limited in prosecution by the Drinking Water Inspectorate

Lisa was instructed to represent Thames Water in their first prosecution for 15 years by the DWI. Against a background of multi-million pound fines for prosecutions by the Regulators, Lisa and her junior, Alison Pryor, managed to achieve a fine of only £160,000 for TWUL.

Lisa has defended four out of the last five prosecutions brought by the DWI – acting for UU, NWL and TWUL – and was delighted to be asked to speak at this year’s Water UK Lawyers’ conference. She has been invited to speak at next year’s conference.
