Mark Ford (QC) delivers presentation at POCLA Members’ Northern Forum 2020

Mark Ford was invited to speak at this year’s POCLA Member’s Northern Forum 2020, hosted by Shoosmiths in Manchester.

Despite the current health concerns, the event was well attended by members of the bar, solicitors, forensic accountants and others involved in the field of confiscation, white-collar crime and corporate misfeasance. Mark Ford and Victoria Lewis attended on behalf of Lincoln House Chambers.

Mark, supported by Victoria Lewis (also of Lincoln House Chambers) presented on “Recent Developments in Confiscation”, providing delegates with an overview of notable and recent authorities in this dynamic area of the law, the new and developing area of Unexplained Wealth Orders, and the progression of proportionality principles since the landmark case of Waya.

The day also involved a talk from Neil Hawes QC on deferred prosecution agreements and a panel discussion, featuring HHJ Paul Lawton, covering topics from section 22 orders, to the future of proceeds of crime law.
