Matthew Howarth Secures Complete Acquittal in Witness Intimidation Case

Matthew Howarth, instructed by Paula Edwards from RH Law, represented an ex-professional footballer at Manchester Crown Square in a four-day trial beginning Tuesday 23rd September 2017.

The case involved an allegation of witness intimidation and assault upon a vulnerable adult in Manchester City Centre. It was alleged that the Acquitted assaulted the Complainant to prevent her being a potential witness in another matter.

The Trial involved use of ABE interviews, cross examination of vulnerable adults through Live-Link and the need to deal with a number of previous bad character matters. Mr Howarth closed the case on Thursday morning. The Jury returned a not guilty verdict on all counts on midday Friday.

All enquiries in relation to Matthew’s work and availability to accept instructions should be made via the Clerk’s room.
