A 22 year old Haslingden man has been acquitted of murder at Preston Crown. The defence was conducted by Tony Cross Q.C. and Robert Elias who were instructed by Holt & Longworth Solicitors.
The jury returned a unanimous verdict of not guilty to a charge of murder before also acquitting the defendant of manslaughter following a trial lasting 7 days in which complex issues of self-defence, loss of control and diminished responsibility were prominent. The defence called Dr Josanne Holloway of the Edenfield unit to assist with the defence of diminished responsibility.
