Neil Usher secures conviction in sex case where principal witness is just three years old.

Following a week-long trial at Minshull Street Crown Court, Neil Usher successfully prosecuted Thomas Noone for sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl. The three-year-old was the main prosecution witness and gave evidence during the trial. She is one of the youngest victims to give evidence and be cross-examined in the Crown Court. The offence took place in July of this year and was fast tracked into court given the extremely young age of the victim. A range of special measures were used including cross examination taking place in the TV link room rather than in court, and extensive use of a specialist child intermediary.

Sentencing will take place in January.
