Newton Heath Killer Given 23 Years

The killer of Kailem Gibson, aged 28, has appeared before a court, for sentence, following his conviction by a jury at Manchester Crown Court.

Martin Davies, 36, stabbed Gibson in a dispute about a drug dealing business in August 2025.

The killing occurred at a flat at 4 Gilmerton Drive, Newton Heath, where Kailem Gibson lived in a cupboard.

At a trial in February 2025, Davies was convicted of manslaughter.

On 16th March 2026 HHJ Field imposed a custodial sentence of 23 years, which comprised of 19 years custody and a 4 year extended licence.
