Not guilty verdict following successful half-time submission in dangerous driving case
Rebecca Filletti, instructed by BLJ Solicitors, successfully represented a man facing an allegation of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal collision in Cheshire.
Mr Worthington subsequently admitted causing Ms Connolly’s death by careless driving during a trial at Chester Crown Court.
Following the cross-examination of the Police Expert Forensic Collision Investigator, a successful half-time submission was made on behalf of Mr Worthington.
Judge Simon Berkson directed the jury to return a verdict of not guilty in respect of the more serious offence of causing death by dangerous driving.
Mr Worthington was therefore acquitted of the allegation of causing death by dangerous driving and admitted the lesser offence of causing death by careless driving.
Worthington, is now up for sentencing at the same court next month.
