Operation Hombre concludes with 9 defendants sentenced

Nine defendants have been sentenced at the conclusion of Operation Hombre for their roles in a conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and money laundering network that spanned across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and the Midlands.

The sentencing, with over 42 years imposed thus far with one defendant yet to be sentenced, follows a major investigation by Lancashire Constabulary’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit which began in January 2015 and was codenamed Operation Hombre.

Dan Thomas, instructed by the Complex Case Unit, was instructed as Junior Counsel for the Crown.

The trial judge at the conclusion of proceedings commended the prosecution team stating: “The manner in which this case was investigated and presented was of the highest possible standard.
