Jaime Milligan, Club Captain of Fleetwood Town FC, currently top of the Blue Square Bet Premier League, successfully defended an action brought by a former club in the civil courts to recover a signing on fee.
Mr Milligan engaged the services of Tony Cross QC via Lincoln House Direct, following a referral from the Professional Footballers Association. Tony provided advisory services throughout the litigation and Dan Thomas provided the advocacy services in the County Court.
The County Court dismissed the case after a contested trial. Speaking after the hearing Milligan, the former Everton and Blackpool player praised his Lawyers saying, “Tony and Dan had a fantastic understanding of the nature of football contracts. They did an incredible job for me. And it was brilliant being able to go to them directly.”
