TRANSPORT OPERATIONS MANAGER REPRESENTED BY MR JEREMY LASKER ACQUITTED OF ALLEGATIONS OF TACHOGRAPH OFFENCES.

In October 2017, following an investigation by the  Vehicle and Vehicle Standards Agency which began in 2013   into the commercial affairs  of Westram Limited,  a substantial Transport company operating from East Yorkshire, a 4 -6 week trial at Hull Crown Court was cut short on the 2nd day when the Prosecuting Authority offered no evidence against the Operations Manager of the company Mr William Cosgrove,  represented by Mr Jeremy Lasker who was instructed by Mr John Greenwood  of Stephenson’s Solicitors.

The prosecution was based upon   expert analysis and comparison of GPRS and tachograph evidence which the Prosecution alleged demonstrated a concerted attempt to bypass the EU Recording Equipment Regulations and various sections of the 1968 Transport Act relating to drivers’ hours and recording or work.

At the conclusion of the proceedings following a Not Guilty verdict which was entered on the direction of the Judge, Mr Jeremy Lasker applied for and was granted a defendant’s costs order.
