Woman acquitted following fatal XL Bully attack

Rebecca Filletti, instructed by Caitlin Cardwell of Draycott Browne Solicitors, successfully represented a woman who was acquitted of charges arising from the fatal attack of an XL Bully dog on her partner’s father.

Chanel Fong, aged 33, was accused of owning an XL Bully named, which was alleged to have been dangerously out of control and to have fatally attacked her partner’s father. She faced an alternative charge of being the person in charge of the dog at the time of the attack.

The incident occurred before XL Bullies were added to the list of dogs prohibited under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

Taking just 3 hours to reach its verdict, following a trial at Caernarfon Crown Court, the jury found Ms Fong not guilty of both charges.
